Small Teco Vase with 2 handles 3 3/4″ tall SOLD
Teco Pottery was produced in Terra Cotta (now Crystal Lake), Illinois, by the American Terra Cotta and Ceramic Company, founded by William Day Gates. Production began in the late 19th century and continued into the early 1920s.
Teco is best known for its waxy green matte glazes and strong Prairie School designs, characterized by architectural forms, subtle surface modeling, and a refined, sculptural quality. These understated yet modern designs placed Teco among the most important American art pottery produced during the Arts & Crafts era.
