L&JG Stickley Day Bed

L&JG Stickley Day Bed in nice finish, good condition. Measures 28″ tall x 30″ deep x 80″ long and signed with “The Work of L&JG Stickley” decal. American quarter sawn White Oak with an old leather reupholstery job. The legs were constructed from a piece 3 3/8″ square with quadralinear construction post. They were then cut at an angle.

This technique allows the beauty of ray flake to appear on all four sides of a post, rather than on just the normal two. To achieve this, four quartersawn boards are mitered together around a solid core, and in this case the core is three boards joined, increasing the strength and beauty of the post.
