I have some very exciting news. The well known author and Arts and Crafts historian David Cathers has completed his monograph on Gustav Stickley. I had the opportunity to receive and read a review copy. David creates a narrative time line that flows smoothly through the life and work of Gustav Stickley. His research has illuminated the individual designers that were employed by Stickley and assigns furniture designs to these personalities. For a long time Harvey Ellis was the single genius that stood out at the Craftsman. Now we have several others work to study. The publisher, Phaidon, did a superb job at layout and the book is printed on nice heavy stock.
